Today, we need to share some news that isn’t easy for us to deliver, but we’re committed to being completely honest and transparent (just like our pricing plans). We’re making some changes to our pricing structure, and while change is never fun, we know this is a necessary next step.
Here’s the Deal
After rounds of discussions, we’ve made the decision to sunset our FREE plan, with changes starting today, January 5, 2026. We know this might be disappointing news if you’re currently using the free tier, and we don’t take this decision lightly.

The truth is, rising operational costs mean we need to refocus our resources to keep delivering the quality of service you deserve. But here’s the good news: we’re not just taking something away – we’re also evolving our pricing plans to work better for businesses at every stage.
The Important Dates (Mark Your Calendar!)
Here’s the timeline for these changes, so you know exactly what to expect and when:

What does the ‘View-only’ Mode Actually Mean?
Think of it like a locked filing cabinet – you can look at everything, but you can’t change anything or add new stuff.
When your account moves to view-only mode, you’ll still be able to see all your historical data (nothing disappears), view month totals in payroll and reports, export employee details, payroll reports, and tax forms, review past leave, review claims records, etc… you get the gist.
However, you won’t be able to add new employees or update existing information, process new payroll runs, or approve new leave applications. In a nutshell, you can’t make any new changes to your data, but you can view old data and choose to export it.
Here’s what’s really important: If you don’t upgrade to a paid plan within 60 days of moving to view-only mode, we’ll have to delete your account and data permanently. If you miss this 60-day deadline, you’ll have to create a new company account and start from scratch. It’s really a hassle to do this – so please make sure you’ve exported everything you need! Or, upgrade to one of our competitively-priced paid plans and keep enjoying everything Talenox has to offer.
New to Talenox? Don’t Worry!
If you’re just discovering us, you can still try Talenox completely free with our 30-day SUITE trial. No hidden fees or hefty “implementation costs” – just a genuine trial to see if we’re the right fit for you. If you need help with the nitty-gritty of the system, feel free to book a free online demo. Our friendly team’s happy to help you figure things out.
After your trial ends, you’ll need to choose a paid plan to keep using Talenox as it is. And if no payment is set up, we’ll delete inactive accounts after 60 days (from signup date).
From Cookie-Cutter to Custom: Our New Approach
Let’s be honest…the old pricing model was pretty rigid.
The old way had these fixed options: a FREE Plan with basic payroll features, a Payroll Plan for more advanced payroll processing, a Leave Plan for leave management, and a SUITE Plan with everything bundled together (including a bonus Claims beta module). One size fits all, right? Except… it didn’t really fit some.
The new way works differently. We still offer our Standard Plans (Payroll, Leave, and SUITE), but we’ve added a Startup Plan with special love for the new kids on the block, and Talenox Pro for serious solutions at scale. We’re also in the midst of launching more features in the coming months – so be sure to get on our newsletter to see what’s new!
Let’s Talk About Who Gets What
For the Promising (but Scrappy) Startups (1-10 Employees)
We’ve still got you. We understand how painful the early days were. For us, we had to consider every expense and every dollar counts.
We get it. That’s why we created the Startup Plan (or Startup Program). You’ll get seriously good pricing (don’t take my word for it – just speak to us), access to the basic features a startup like yours would benefit from, and support from people who actually want to help you succeed.
To qualify, your company needs to meet both of these criteria:
- Be less than 1 year old based on your official registration date, and
- Have fewer than 10 employees
We’ve been where you are, and we’re still committed to supporting early-stage companies – even if it means taking a hit on our margins. To access the Startup Plan, simply talk to us through any of your preferred channels.
For the Growing Teams (50-1000+ Employees)
Once you hit 50+ employees, your HR needs get… complicated.
That’s where Talenox Pro comes in. You’ll get pricing built around your actual needs and team size, advanced features and integrations, and greater security.

This is perfect if you’re a mid-sized business with 50-200 employees, a larger enterprise with 200-1000+ employees, or just tired of software that doesn’t quite work for your sophisticated requirements.

We’re Making This Transition Easier for You
If you’re currently on our FREE plan, we know this is a change you weren’t expecting. To show we appreciate you sticking with us, we want to make upgrading as smooth and affordable as possible.
For existing users: We have special loyalty discounts available just for you. If you’re an Admin or Super Admin on your account, simply log in and click the purple messaging button in the bottom right-hand corner of the platform. Reach out to us, and we’ll extend a special offer tailored to your needs. These conversations are confidential, and we’re here to find pricing that works for your business.
For new users: We’ve already revised our pricing tables to include some time-limited offers on our paid plans. You’ll see competitive rates right from the start. Plus, don’t overlook the annual pricing option – it gives you serious bang for your buck and can save you significantly over monthly billing.
These offers won’t last forever, so if you’re thinking about upgrading, now’s the time to take advantage of them.
Why Are We Really Doing This?
Look, we could give you corporate speak about “strategic initiatives” and “optimising resources,” but let’s just be real.
Running a software company is expensive. Servers, security, compliance, staff – it all adds up. But that’s only part of the story.
The bigger truth? We’ve been listening to you – our customers, our partners, and everyone who’s given us feedback over the past 11 years. And here’s what we’ve learned: sometimes offering a good product for free isn’t actually a good thing.
When something is free, it can signal low value, even when that’s not true. We’ve heard from partners who tell us that potential customers assume Talenox must be “basic” or “not serious” because we offer a free tier. We’ve seen businesses hesitate to commit because they wonder, “If it’s free, how good can it really be?”
But here’s what we know: customers are willing to pay for quality. In fact, many of you have told us you’d rather pay for something reliable than use something free that might disappear or stop improving. You want to know that we’re invested in this for the long haul, and that means having a sustainable business model.
So we’ve reached a decision point. We could keep offering free and watch our service quality slowly decline, or we could refocus on paid customers and keep making Talenox better. We chose the latter.
By moving away from the FREE plan, we can build features you’ve been asking for, respond faster when you need help, and actually be around to support you for the next 11 years, just as how we’ve been supporting you for the past 11.
What Should You Do Right Now?
If You’re Using the FREE Plan:
First, take a deep breath. You’ve still got time to decide if Talenox still makes sense for your business. This is also your last chance to generate your tax forms for free, so make sure to export all your data before the deadline after you’re done filing your taxes (March 31 for SG/MY, May 1 for HK). If you want to stay with us (and we hope you do!), reach out to talk about pricing and check if you qualify for any of our existing promotions for our loyal customers. We recommend you log in to your Admin/Super Admin account to do this, so we’ll know which company you’re from.
If You’re New Here:
Start by getting a free demo and then signing up for the 30-day SUITE trial. Figure out what features you actually need (don’t pay for stuff you won’t use!). If you’re a startup, definitely ask about the Startup Plan. If you’ve got a bigger team or special needs, talk to us about Talenox Pro or custom pricing. And before your trial ends, pick a plan and set a reminder so you don’t lose access.
If You’re Already Paying:
